Overview of challenge:
Create an identity for Best Scrap Metal. The company is generally referred to as “Best,” and is a scrap metal company (rough and tough), that is earth-friendly. Big on recycling, their services are free (eco-friendly, very nice), they are an established company that want those main characteristics to come through in a bold, strong logo.

Solution:
Bold, black type was used, especially to emphasize “Best” since that is what folks refer to them as, with a hint of an “eco-friendly” shade of green. The green and black are bold, almost edgy colors together, and the typeface portrays strength and establishment. A square green icon was created to symbolize the materials and the process they go through. The color green speaks to the recycling aspect of the company, while the square shape, also signifying strength, symbolizes a pieces of scrap metal, the rough brush strokes speaking to the sharpness of the materials, and the continuous lines within signifying the continual recycling processes involved.
